Gaming Memories 6: Metroid School-mates
(Gaming Memories post at my gaming blog)
Now, spoilers, but when you finished Metroid in a small amount of time, you would get to see the main character, Samas, without armor. The big twist was that you were playing a girl the entire time. Even though I did not see this game beaten till over a decade later, I knew Samas was female because of a coincidence that no one will believe.
While at my cousin's house, they were getting ready to play some Metroid. I was all intent to watch, I was probably around 5 years old at the time and so all I ever got to do was watch them play. They were getting ready to put the code in to continue their game when they started goofing around, seeing if they could change things and have the game accept them. Now, I swear this is TRUTH, this is REAL. My cousin's friend was there that day, and his name was Justin Bailey. I KNOW! People that know about this are already calling "BULLSHIT!", but go ahead with your disbelief. When you enter JUSTIN BAILY and blank out the lower lines, you get a special Samus to play.

It is really really weird to me that The Big Bang Theory is the highest watched show on television. To think that it is up there with MASH, Cheers, Friends and Seinfeld is just kinda... I don't know. I really really like Big Bang Theory, but it just seems like these other shows are more "important" ? or.. something? I mean, MASH for sure was a very special show with some important things to say. Technically Big Bang Theory is way more successful than even Scrubs, and that is crazy. The latest drama was the salary disputes for the crew, because I think they realized they were in Friends territory and wanted a huge pay increase per episode. Its not really greedy of them, the amount of money the studio and network is making off them is hugely high, especially because their syndication on TBS is pulling in viewers as if it were a first run show.
That's the Chaparral 2J. It was banned after its first race for being too "unfair". Looks weird right? That's a snow mobile engine there on the back. See, the bottom of the race car is sealed using plastic along the ground, and the snow mobile motor creates suction on the bottom, literally sucking the car to the road so that it does not need a spoiler. The 45 horse power snow mobile motor created more suction than the car weighed, meaning you could have raced it on the ceiling and the car would not fall.
The Most Pirated Games in the last 40 Days By State is interesting. Not as interesting as the "porn by state" one, but still some funny stuff in there. My state has The Sims 3: Night LIfe as the most downloaded. What does that mean? Well, we do have a substantial hipster population around Atlanta, and many are working high hour jobs where late night pay is better, so I imagine there's a lot of "wish I could party tonight" people. Anyway, the MOST funny has got to be Idaho because they have Sims 3: Island Paradise as their #1. Those poor stuck Idahoans wishing they weren't so landlocked lol.
